Job summary

AdventHealth in New Smyrna Beach, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to assist in delivering patient care under a licensed nurse, take vital signs, and document in the EMR. You will follow safety policies and participate in quality initiatives while supporting a caring, healing environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and prefers CNA certification. 1+ year of PCT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of approved PCT experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
• CNA certification preferred or listed certificates (CPCT/A, NCPCT, PCT-C, EMT)

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately perform vital signs and document in the electronic medical record.
• Document and report procedures accurately in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Function appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and support quality standards.
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly, and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Job Description
