Qualifications

Job Description:

Pitney Bowes is hiring a Non CDL Truck (Van) Driver I, 1st Shift at our Reading, Pennsylvania facility.

Join our team and earn $16.80 per hour paid weekly with possible overtime!

Your 1st Shift Schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:00AM – 8:00PM or 9:00PM (EST).

You are a Performance driven individual who is committed to providing innovative service to our clients. You are approachable and relationship oriented as you contribute to Pitney Bowes success. You will be picking up mail from customers in Pennsylvania and delivering it back to the Pitney Bowes location in Reading, Pennsylvania.

You will:

  • Picks up and delivers mail from our customers by operating a company van weighing up to 10,000 GVWR.
  • Inspect vehicles assigned by Pitney Bowes pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures.
  • Reports any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor
  • Maintains a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage and cargo.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to customer and USPS specifications and regulations.
  • Ensure that the mail is reviewed for proper dates, presort slugs and a pickup slip is attached with each order prior to loading on the truck.
  • Promotes a clean work area to prevent possible injuries and/or tripping hazards to self and others.
  • Assists in dispatch area between assigned pickups.
  • Assist with the presorting of mail on the production floor.
  • All other duties as assigned.

As a Non CDL Truck (Van) Driver I, you have:

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good customer services skills necessary
  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
  • Ability to read a map and understand directions with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to understand and become knowledgeable with USPS regulations and managing standards with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to lift, push and/or carry up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to drive a Van up to 10,000 GVWR.
  • Regularly sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time with or without accommodation.
  • A Minimum of six months experience driving a similar sized vehicle with a safe driving record
  • Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.
  • Ability to meet and comply with all applicable US Department of Transportation requirements for pre-employment and post hire.
  • Satisfactory completion of our pre-employment process which may include DOT driving tests, drug screens and background verifications.

Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS. For completing this work, Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients, weare able toshare a portion of that discount with them.
