Job summary

STA Family of Companies is seeking a Non-CDL Transportation Specialist bus driver to operate a van or bus along designated routes, transporting school pupils or clients to and from school or other locations. Drivers may handle charter trips and work with students with disabilities, under supervision of a manager, supervisor, or dispatcher.

Duties include daily route driving, safety inspections, child checks, maintaining order, and upholding policies related to pupil/client management.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Minimum 3 years verifiable driving history.
• Clean driving record within the last 24-36 months (about 3 years).
• Complete a comprehensive training program.
• Pre-employment background checks.

Responsibilities

• Drive a minivan daily along designated routes following schedules.
• Transport pupils and teachers on school trips.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Perform child check after each run.
• Maintain order and supervise students/clients.
• Follow company policies for pupil/client management and communications.
• Verify route turn sheets and note changes; assist with route builds.
• Record timing data to assess route efficiency and submit reports.
• Keep the vehicle clean, refueled, and report mechanical issues.
• Instruct students on safety and evacuation procedures.
