Job summary

US Foods in Lexington, SC is seeking a Yard Jockey to support truck and trailer movements. The role starts at $27.15 per hour with a Sunday–Thursday schedule and occasional Friday shifts, 8–10 hours per day, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities include coordinating with dispatch, moving trailers, loading/unloading, and preparing trailers for backhauls while maintaining safety and reliability in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Minimum six months Non-CDL driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Load, unload or merge loads between environments.
  • Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers.
  • Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and pallets.
  • Ensure equipment is paired and ready for deliveries.
  • Work with mechanics nightly.
  • Attend all required company meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Schedule is Sunday - Thursday, and every other Friday. Starting at 7:00pm until finish (8-10 hours per day).

Main Ingredients of the Job

  • Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
  • Keep assignedequipment coupled
  • Move trailers between buildingsas directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
  • Load, unload or merge loads between environments
  • Stage shuttle trailersnightly for shuttle drivers
  • Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
  • Place backhauls in correct doorto be unloaded by warehouse
  • Make sure allequipment is paired and ready for next day’s deliveries.
  • Work with mechanics nightly
  • Must attend all required company meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions

What You Bring to the Table

  • Must be at least21 years of age
  • Must havevalid driver’s licenseissued by state of residence
  • Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred
  • Ability tooperate manual transmissionpreferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Must be able topass DOT physical.
  • Must be able toread and communicate in the English language- able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is $27.15/hour.

As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation.
