Job description

Join to apply for the Non-CDL Local Delivery Truck Driver role at Sysco.

Position Purpose:

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. Candidates will operate successfully in a cross dock model, picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at the assigned loading dock and returning empty trucks to the lot at the end of the route. May occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated times.
• Unload products from trailers, using hand carts if necessary, and place them in designated customer storage areas, in all weather conditions.
• Lift, push, or move products weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds, and reach up to 72 inches to stack/unstack pallets.
• Verify deliveries with customers, obtain signatures, and communicate discrepancies or errors to management.
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Properly handle company equipment, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year of route delivery experience or relevant driving background with a straight truck.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in English for communication, reading traffic signs, and record-keeping.
