Position Details

All applicants for a Non-CDL Driver position, including those fully qualified with the appropriate license and endorsements, start as a Driver in Training. We invest heavily in training and development to ensure our drivers are the best in the business.

As a Driver in Training, you will be trained to obtain necessary endorsements and learn our policies. Upon successful completion, you will be promoted to a Non-CDL Driver role.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation, operating school buses or other vehicles on fixed or changing routes.
• Maintain high ethical standards and report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
• Report to duty on time and maintain punctual routes safely.
• Assist passengers in emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Follow policies on student and passenger management.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a professional appearance and complete all required paperwork promptly.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and passengers, promoting goodwill.
• Utilize vehicle equipment safely, including wheelchair lifts and emergency tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned, with additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers as applicable.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old; 25 for Tennessee School Bus Drivers.
• Possess or be able to obtain valid state licenses and certifications.
• Meet physical, medical, and substance screening requirements.
• Successfully complete all training.
• Practice defensive driving and safe work habits.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
