Position: Non CDL Dock Height Driver and Dockworker at our Centerville, MN Terminal.

Pay: Starting at $25.73/hour, increasing to $28.37/hour after one year.

Hours: Monday - Friday, starting at 4:00 am.

Position Summary

Begin the day working at the inbound dock and assist with P&D by driving a Non CDL vehicle between customer locations to deliver and pick up freight at dock height.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a Non CDL vehicle safely while transporting freight between terminals.
  • Load and unload vehicle, independently or with dockworker assistance; operate freight handling equipment where available.
  • Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
  • Secure freight through strapping or other methods as needed.
  • Inspect vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
  • Perform duties in accordance with company policies and comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License with at least 3 years of driving experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience backing into docks.
  • Possess only one valid driver's license issued by the resident state; provide previous license info if transferred from another state.
  • No DUI/OWI or Reckless Driving convictions in the past 5 years.
  • Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Pass DOT physical and functional screening.
  • Consent to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing with negative results.
  • Agree to a 10-year work history check; explain gaps of 30 days or more.
  • Ability to read, write English, and perform basic math.
  • Excellent attendance.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Grip various objects up to 100 pounds.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds from ground to 45 inches.
  • Carry up to 100 pounds for 250 feet.
  • Push/pull up to 60 pounds force.
  • Sit up to 10 hours/day; frequent standing/walking; occasional climbing, squatting, balancing, kneeling; rare crawling.
  • Frequent reaching, grasping, handling during freight loading/unloading, trailer door operation, steering, and trailer jacking.
  • Constant vision use for driving, reading maps, inspecting vehicle; occasional smell for leaks; frequent hearing for vehicle sounds.
  • Potential exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, gases, fumes, or chemicals.
