The Non-CDL Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to customers. The Pumper truck and ancillary equipment driver will collect solid waste on an assigned route to service customers curbside and/or backdoor routes and transport waste for disposal. Key Responsibilities include operating a pumper truck and ancillary equipment to service porta let units, loading and unloading equipment, unloading waste at disposal locations, performing safety inspections and reports, communicating vehicle mechanical problems, maintaining route quality standards, following safety standards and company rules, maintaining clean vehicle, wearing required personal protective equipment, reporting accidents or incidents, maintaining accurate service records, managing inventory of porta lets and related equipment, working with supervisor to improve routing efficiencies, attending safety and branch meetings, and performing other duties as required. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED desired, ability to meet safety sensitive function criteria, and ability to safely drive truck and operate equipment. Knowledge and skills required include understanding truck components and maintenance, ability to maneuver truck in tight spaces, recognize unacceptable waste, communicate effectively, read and comprehend documents and maps, follow instructions, adapt to change, exert physical effort for lifting and coordination, and follow safety policies. Physical and mental demands include ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell; visual requirements for close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment; ability to lift/move weights up to 100 pounds; sitting up to 75% of the time; and ability to work in loud conditions. Working conditions include exposure to loud noise, humidity, weather extremes, mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, outdoor environment, motor vehicle traffic, and occasional work in high precarious places.
