Pacific Rail Services is looking for full-time employees to join our team at the BNSF Portland, OR Terminal!
This is an On-The-Job-Training opportunity that allows those who need some additional skills for the job to be hired and trained on the job with a starting earning potential of $50,000- $65,000 in your first year with overtime pay factored in. Your starting rate depends on your experience. You will learn how to drive and park a 53 ft trailer with a jockey truck and you will also learn the in's and out's of being a ground person walking along the railroad tracks climbing on and off of rail cars. On the job training is also available to become a forklift operator and crane operator if the employee in the position of Jockey Driver/Ground person proves to be a safe and dependable employee. Room for advancement. We run 24/7/365 day facilities.
Pay:
Shift:
- 6am or 6pm.
- 10 hour shifts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive company vehicles in a safe manner.
- Spotting and parking of Intermodal freight trailers.
- Locking and unlocking of Intermodal freight trains.
- Be safety-minded and follow the rules and regulations.
Physical Responsibilities:
- Climb in and out of vehicles numerous times throughout the shift.
- Alternate between walking and sitting.
- Constant climbing, stooping, twisting, and turning while performing Groundperson duties.
Applicants for the Jockey Driver/Groundperson position must meet the general requirements for employment with the company, according to the Company hiring process which include:
- A valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to pass a 7-year background check. Any felonies in the last 7 years of jail time in the last 5 years will disqualify applicants.
- Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.
- Must be able to pass an IPCS Physical Capabilities Test.
- (No GED or diploma required).
