Job Description for Dockworker at AAA Cooper Transportation

AAA Cooper Transportation, founded in 1955, is an asset-based multi-regional trucking company providing less-than-truckload, truckload, dedicated contract carriage, brokerage, and international services. With directly operated facilities in the Southeast, Southwest, Midwest, and Puerto Rico, and partner carriers with coverage into Canada, Mexico, and across the globe, AAA Cooper Transportation can service nearly all transportation needs.

Position: Dockworker (Part-Time)

Job Responsibilities
  1. Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, either individually or with assistance, using mechanical freight handling equipment as required.
  2. Load freight to and from dock and trailers according to Bills of Lading, delivery receipts, packaging labels, etc.
  3. Plan the loading of freight onto trailers to fully utilize available space and minimize the risk of damage.
  4. Hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including operating the crank lever to raise and lower landing gear.
  5. Inspect equipment for defects and ensure safe operating conditions, complying with state and federal laws and AAA Cooper standards.
  6. Fuel trucks, tractors, and other company equipment.
  7. Clean, sweep, and wash dock, trailers, yard, tractors, and other work areas.
  8. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
