Job description

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. Candidates will operate successfully in a cross dock model, picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at the assigned loading dock and returning empty trucks to the lot at the end of the route. They may also assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
2. Unload products from trailers, by hand or using hand carts, and place them in designated customer storage areas, including transporting products down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions.
3. Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; reach up to 72” to stack and unstack pallets and use hand carts; bend and twist constantly while loading and unloading products and retrieving items from trailers.
4. Verify delivery of items with customers, obtain signatures, and contact management for invoice discrepancies. Communicate all errors or returns and report if customers do not receive their complete orders (shorts).
5. Handle customer complaints professionally.
6. Properly handle company equipment, follow driver safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspections. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip duties in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.

Education:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Experience:

At least one year of route delivery experience or relevant driving background with a straight truck.

Valid Driver’s License.

Ability to read and understand English.
