Job description

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order they are designated by the Transportation Department Manager. Candidates will operate successfully in a cross dock model, picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at the assigned loading dock and returning empty trucks to the lot at the end of the route. They may also assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
2. Unload products from trailers using hand carts or by hand, and place them in designated customer storage areas. This may involve transporting products across ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions.
3. Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; reach up to 72 inches to stack or unstack pallets and handle carts; bend and twist constantly while loading and unloading products and retrieving items from trailers.
4. Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures. Contact management for invoice discrepancies and communicate errors or returns. Report when customers do not receive their complete orders (shorts).
5. Handle customer complaints professionally.
6. Operate company equipment properly, follow safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspections. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Position Purpose:

The role involves running daily routes with frequent stops, loading and unloading products, and operating in a cross dock environment, with occasional assistance in loading trucks and palletizing products.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year of route delivery experience or relevant driving background with a straight truck.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and understand English.
