Job summary

84 Lumber Company is seeking a full-time Local Delivery Driver to deliver building materials to customer job sites using a pickup truck. Forklift operation may be required; yard and warehouse upkeep is part of the role.

A valid state driver’s license and clean driving record are required; CDL is not required. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, forklift certification, and maintaining safety and organization across the lumber yard.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Read and speak English sufficiently to interact with the public and read traffic signs.
• Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Provide annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) or certificate as required by FMCSA.
• Physically capable to drive a CMV under FMCSA rules.
• Not disqualified to drive a CMV under FMCSA rules.
• Complete or have completed a driver’s road test with valid certificate.
• May be required to have a CDL depending on truck/hauler.
• May require a valid Medical Exam certificate/card.
• High school diploma or GED.

Overview

Salary: $20.00 hourly

The full-time Local Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering building materials to customer job sites uaing a pickup truck. You may also operate a forklift and maintain the lumber yard and warehouse. Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license and safe driving record, CDL not required.

Responsibilities include:

• Building loads for delivery and unloading freight including lumber and building supplies
• Forklift training, certification, and operation
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organized lumber yard and warehouse
• Communicating delays or discrepancies with management

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
• Safely operate the assigned commercial motor vehicle.
• Provide (on an annual basis) a true and correct copy of your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a list of violations or the certificate as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act.
• Be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act
• Not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act.
• Complete or have completed a driver's road test and has been issued a valid and current certificate of driver's road test, or its equivalent, in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act.
• Depending on the truck and/or hauler, you may be required to have a commercial motor vehicle license
• Depending on the truck and/or hauler, you may be required to have a valid and current Medical Exam certificate or card.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
