Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Newark, NJ is seeking a Truck Driver to operate non-CDL box trucks, assist with warehouse tasks, and maintain inventory accuracy. This full-time role requires reliability, safety, and professional representation on jobsites and at supplier locations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English to read manifests and communicate with dispatch.
• Minimum 1–2 years driving commercial box or rack trucks.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License with clean record; Medical DOT Card required or to be obtained on hire.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds during loading/unloading.
• Proficient with GPS routing tools and following start times (6:00 AM).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 16-foot rack truck (Non-CDL) in urban and active construction zones.
• Pickup material orders from local vendors and ensure timely collection.
• Verify vendor orders against paperwork before loading.
• Deliver materials to active jobsites and unload safely.
• Cross-check quantities with manifests and jobsite foremen.
• Assist with loading/unloading of pipes, equipment, and fittings.
• Secure loads with straps/chains/ropes before driving.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain professional communication at jobsites and supplier locations.
