Job Summary:

The Millwork Delivery Driver will deliver millwork products, pick up returned products, or render maintenance service to McCoy’s facilities or commercial job sites.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drives delivery truck or van to deliver millwork trim, interior and exterior doors, metal and patio doors, stock and special order doors to McCoy’s retail facilities and/or commercial job sites
  • Collects payments from commercial contractors on COD orders. Gathers signature and identification information from store employees at retail locations upon delivery of merchandise. Records these transactions on millwork copy of the delivery paperwork.
  • Follows directions and/or uses a map to locate delivery locations efficiently.
  • Records delivery information on daily delivery records.
  • Treats all millwork customers with courtesy and respect.
  • Acts as customer service liaison between the customer and the millwork facility.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints from customers. Reports service complaints to millwork management if necessary, so that such complaints are handled quickly and efficiently.
  • Assists in warehouse and assembly area with stocking, loading, and organizing materials when needed.
  • Collects and picks up empty containers, trash, and rejected or unsold millwork merchandise.
  • Loads and unloads delivery truck or van, while ensuring ticket accuracy.
  • Ensures that delivery truck or van is regularly cleaned and properly maintained.
  • Performs routine safety checks on delivery trucks or vans according to company guidelines.
  • Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Regulated DOT Qualifications (if driving a commercial motor vehicle)
  • Must be qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under FMCSR rules, which include having a current and unrestricted DOT physical card per the FMCSR requirements.
  • Must have a current and appropriate operator’s license for the equipment being operated or towed or the manner in which the equipment is used according to company guidelines.
Required Skills/Abilities :
  • Ability to drive safely.
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
  • Ability to plan delivery routes.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
  • Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
  • The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
  • Must be able to meet the company's driver eligibility guidelines.
  • Must successfully complete all company training and certification requirements regarding equipment usage, including obtaining McCoy’s forklift certification.
  • Frequent travel with occasional overnight stays.
Education/Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway signs and signals, and to respond to official inquires.
  • Hold a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle that is being operated.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must be able to use the three-point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • May need to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in various types of weather.
