Oldham County Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs. You will design engaging lessons that align with state standards and school goals, and foster an inclusive classroom environment.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in education and a valid state teaching license or eligibility. Salary will be determined by the superintendent based on 187 contract days and the district’s salary schedule, with opportunities

  • Valid state teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with student goals and state/district standards.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive, safe, inclusive learning environment that encourages respect and collaboration.
  • Assessment: Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
  • Parent-Teacher Communication: Regularly discuss student performance with parents/guardians.
  • Collaboration: Work with teachers, staff, and administrators to support individual needs and school goals.
  • Data Collection: Maintain accurate documentation related to student progress.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by school administration.

Reports to: Building Level Principal, Assistant Director of Special Education

Terms of Employment: Compensation will be determined by the Superintendent based on 187 contract days and appropriate board-approved teacher salary schedule.

Minimum Qualifications
