Job summary

Jefferson Health in New Jersey's nocturnist team provides dedicated overnight inpatient care across our South Jersey acute care hospitals. The role involves 11-12 twelve-hour shifts per month (7 pm–7 am) with a supportive, sustainable schedule designed for work-life balance.

Responsibilities include evaluating admissions from the ED, nocturnal rounds, cross-coverage backup to APPs, and optional academic track supervision for residents.

Qualifications

• Overnight Admissions & Inpatient Care: Evaluate and admit patients from the ED, conduct night rounds, and manage care for previously admitted patients.
• Cross-Coverage Support: Provide backup to APPs, assist with ICU needs including rapid responses and Code Blue events.
• Clinical Supervision (Optional Academic Track): Supervise residents and support triage and admissions for teaching teams-three nocturnists typically cover each night.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, specialists, social work) and ensure comprehensive transitions at shift change.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough charting of histories, physicals, daily notes, and plans of care, ensuring compliance and accurate comorbidity coding.
• Salary Range - $240,000-$330,000.00
