Job summary

East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA is seeking a nocturnist hospitalist to provide comprehensive inpatient care for hospitalized adults during night shifts. You will admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage a variety of medical conditions and coordinate with specialists and care teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine completed.
• Louisiana medical license eligible or held.

• BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient, night-time care for hospitalized patients.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions.

Position Highlights

• Full‑time nocturnist schedule
• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients
• Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult patients across a variety of medical conditions
• Collaborate closely with specialists, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and rapid patient assessments
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record

Responsibilities

Patient Care

Qualifications

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Training

• Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program

Licensure & Certifications

• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Louisiana medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
