University Medical Center New Orleans (UMC), part of LCMC Health, seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospitalist to join our inpatient medicine team. This full-time days role focuses on adult inpatient care within a dynamic academic environment serving Louisiana and the Gulf South.

You will collaborate with residents, fellows, and multidisciplinary teams, lead rounds, ensure high-quality documentation, participate in teaching and quality initiatives, and contribute to exceptional patient

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Eligible for unrestricted Louisiana medical licensure
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients
  • Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with specialists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Lead and participate in patient-centered care planning to optimize outcomes and patient experience
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the EMR
  • Supervise and educate residents and medical students, as appropriate
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives
  • Support the mission of advancing healthcare, education, and community service

Position Highlights

As a Hospitalist Physician, You Will

Qualifications
Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Certifications & Licensure
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Eligible for unrestricted Louisiana medical licensure
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
