East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH) in Metairie, LA is seeking a full-time nocturnist to join our Hospital Medicine team.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and a LA medical license are required; BLS/ACLS; experience with EMR; collaborate with specialists and nursing staff; participate in QA and safety programs.

Nocturnist Hospitalist opportunity at East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH), Metairie, Louisiana. Join a high-performing Hospital Medicine team as a Full-Time Nocturnist. Eligible candidates: Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians. Position Highlights
  • Full-time nocturnist schedule
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients
  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult patients across a variety of medical conditions
  • Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid patient assessments
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based inpatient medical care
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Coordinate care with consultants and interdisciplinary teams
  • Complete patient encounters and documentation in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Training: Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
  • Licesure & Certifications: Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Louisiana medical license; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Skills & Experience: Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills; excellent communication and teamwork; proficiency with electronic medical records; commitment to patient-centered care
