Job summary

University of Toledo Health and the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences invite applications for a full-time or part-time nocturnist to the Department of Hospital Medicine. The Nocturnist provides overnight coverage for General Medicine with shared admissions and collaboration across the night-float residents and PCCM fellow.

The role includes inpatient duties, teaching responsibilities, and participation in research aligned with the Department of Medicine and College of

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
• Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
• Current licensure in the State of Ohio required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care per standard Hospital Medicine practices and maintain quality of care.
• Evaluate, triage, and admit patients from the emergency department or outside facilities.
• Cross-cover and monitor for daytime hospitalists.
• Respond to rapid responses and code blue situations.
• Collaborate with night-shift nurses, APPs, and emergency staff.
• Order labs and imaging and refer to specialists as appropriate.
• Maintain timely, accurate medical records and comply with privacy laws.
• Support teaching programs and participate in research and service assignments.
