Job summary

TeamHealth's nocturnist advanced practice clinician role at Tampa General Hospital seeks a highly capable PA or NP to join a skilled critical care team in the ICU. You will work autonomously yet collaboratively to manage critically ill patients, performing advanced bedside procedures and ensuring precise documentation.

Qualified candidates hold a master's in nursing or board certification as a PA, with the ability to deliver urgent, high-acuity care and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will have a master's degree in nursing or be a board certified PA.
• Nocturnist ICU experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously while collaborating closely with the critical care team to assess, evaluate and manage critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Provide comprehensive care for a diverse, high acuity patient population, including medical and surgical patients with vascular, thoracic, burn and cardiac conditions.
• Deliver timely evaluation and management of patients with urgent and emergent clinical needs.
• Perform histories and physical examinations.
• Order, review and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging and other clinical testing.
• Closely monitor patient status and response treatment, adjusting the plan of case as appropriate.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the ICU medical record.
• Recommend and initiate appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Perform advanced bedside procedures, including intubation, bronchoscopy, central line placement, hemodialysis catheter placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis and paracentesis.
• Demonstrate clinical excellence, sound judgement, and strong problem-solving skills while providing exceptional patient care.
