Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Internal Medicine Nocturnist, you will join the team at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Ringgold, GA, our exceptional new facility that just opened its doors in January 2026. This truly unique and impactful opportunity allows you to be part of a hospital-employed group dedicated to launching and shaping comprehensive, compassionate care for the North Georgia community within this cutting‑edge hospital. Every day you will work with advanced technology in a brand‑new setting, providing vital inpatient care for adults as part of our core team. This role offers an attractive night schedule of 158 shifts (including 5 CME days) from 7 PM to 7 AM, allowing you to contribute significantly to our operations. You will operate in a highly supportive environment, free from Peds, OB, or Trauma cases and a reasonable census. Our new hospital features 64 Patient Rooms, a 24‑Bed Emergency Department, an 8‑Bed Open Intensive Care Unit, 5 Operating Rooms, 2 Endoscopy Suites, and cutting‑edge comprehensive imaging services, providing an ideal setting to grow your career within a modern, forward‑thinking environment.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Board‑Eligible/Board‑Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist with a passion for delivering outstanding, quality patient care in a new, dynamic hospital setting.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing, treating, and prescribing for a diverse adult inpatient population under your care overnight.
  • Promptly evaluating new admissions and managing acute changes in patient conditions.
  • Ordering and interpreting necessary diagnostic tests to guide treatment during the night shift.
  • Collaborating effectively with day‑shift hospitalists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Managing discharge planning for appropriate patients, or preparing them for day‑shift discharge processes.
  • Responding to urgent patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions during the night time.
  • Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of all patient encounters and care provided overnight.
  • Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety protocols, especially within a newly launched facility.
