About the NOC Technician II

As a NOC Technician II, you’ll serve as a central point of communication and action during incidents, partnering closely with Engineering and other teams to monitor systems, resolve issues, and maintain the performance of our nationwide network and IT infrastructure. If you're ready to make an impact in the world of broadcast operations, we want to hear from you!

  • This is an on‑site position that will provide coverage for 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am) on Wednesday‑Sunday.*
What You Will Be Doing
  • Advanced RF Broadcast Support
    • Respond to complex or recurring RF alarms and outages, using deep system knowledge to identify root causes and implement long‑term solutions.
    • Analyze telemetry trends and performance data across multiple transmitter sites to proactively detect degradation or abnormal behavior.
    • Coordinate corrective action plans with Field personnel, ensuring resolution timelines, testing protocols, and proper documentation are followed.
    • Proficiency in database script generation for all equipment and all rack configurations with proper logic for effective SNMP alarm management.
    • Support advanced troubleshooting of audio chain components, including signal flow analysis across encoders, processors, multiplexers, and satellite backhauls.
    • Contribute to RF system upgrades and rollouts, supporting configuration, validation, and remote commissioning of new broadcast equipment.
    • Train and mentor junior NOC Technicians in interpreting remote control data, handling RF alerts, and understanding FCC compliance requirements.
  • Enhanced Network Infrastructure Oversight
    • Resolve escalated network issues involving routing protocols, VLAN configurations, firewall policies, or cross‑site connectivity problems.
    • Monitor and validate complex network relationships, including multicast configurations, VPN tunnels, and hybrid cloud infrastructure dependencies.
    • Participate in network maintenance windows, supporting firmware upgrades, config changes, or fail‑over testing as part of the operations team.
    • Support integration between broadcast systems and IT infrastructure, such as IP‑based audio transport, SNMP monitoring, or broadcast‑over‑IP platforms.
    • Lead investigation of intermittent or chronic IT service issues, working with cross‑functional teams (IT, InfoSec, Broadcast Engineering) as needed.
  • Operational Process & Reliability
    • Review and improve SOPs for alarm handling, troubleshooting procedures, and shift handoffs to increase team efficiency and consistency.
    • Identify systemic issues and recommend improvements to monitoring thresholds, alert routing, or preventative maintenance plans.
    • Act as lead technician on shift, coordinating team response to major incidents, validating troubleshooting steps, and ensuring accurate documentation.
    • Manage escalations with external vendors, such as satellite service providers, remote connectivity carriers, or equipment manufacturers.
  • Reporting, Documentation & Quality Control
    • Oversee accuracy of log entries, work orders, and event tracking, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
    • Perform root cause analysis and produce post‑incident summaries that contribute to long‑term operational improvements.
    • Create training documentation and job aids for new tools, procedures, or systems introduced to the environment.
  • Leadership & Professional Development
    • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for entry‑level team members, providing informal leadership and mentoring support.
    • Participate in cross‑team meetings, offering NOC perspectives on operational impacts, monitoring needs, or deployment readiness.
    • Demonstrate ownership of assigned systems or regions, proactively ensuring their health, uptime, and documentation accuracy.
    • Continue professional development in areas such as networking (e.g., CCNA‑level topics), broadcast engineering, or cloud systems (e.g., AWS fundamentals).
Experience We Are Seeking

  • Industry certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+, SBE CBT).
