NOC Systems Manager – Data Center Facilities – Sumner, WA

Responsibilities
- Operate and Manage controls and building automation systems platforms such as Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), or Building Monitor Systems (BMS) in a data center environment – testing and operations
- Manage a team of NOC Technicians
- Supervise the on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is performed according to established practices and procedures
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility monitoring and controls systems
- Work with IT managers, Facilities Managers, and other business leaders to coordinate projects and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency
- Monitor and administer MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical facilities / data center facility equipment controls systems
- Schedule work activities, within specified change control / management protocol
- Provide emergency support when needed on critical controls systems onsite
- Manage, monitor, maintain, and act as incident first-response for liquid cooling cabinet system to ensure optimal thermal management
- Manage, run diagnostics, and troubleshoot infrastructure monitoring systems to maximize system uptime and visibility and ensure SLAs are maintained
- Perform Remote Hands / Smart Hands services for tenants using exceptional customer service skills, including racking, cabling, hardware diagnostics oncompute and network equipment
- Conduct routine facility rounds and respond to emergency infrastructure alerts during the night shift
- Provide support for the facility team during maintenance activities and incident response
- Operate software to allow for the site infrastructure equipment and systems to perform withouterror in obtain maximum up time
- Troubleshoot system errors and conflicts within the software and operating systems
- Adhere to and review existing facility operating procedures (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs) and participate in defining and refining new onesas it pertains to control processes
- Monitor contractors and vendors for procedural, safety, environmental, risk mitigation and “stop work” process compliance with established SOPs and Policies
- Communicate effectively and provide team with updates to mitigate risk, safe operations and shift coordination

- Monitoringfire detection andsuppression systems, battery monitoring along local area network (LAN) mapping and records keeping
- Repair and Troubleshoot controls systems and hardware (relays, controllers, etc.)Possess working knowledge on data center unique access systems and CCTV systems
- Manage the integration of a new computerized maintenance management tool (CMMS) for all software andhardware systems along with all datacenter infrastructure systems
- Oversee and manage all change management and controls system upgrades while maintaining 100% uptime on allexisting equipment
- Direct and monitor subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling, resource management and coordination of design, construction and start-up services as needed. Construction trades generally include various electrical, mechanical and equipment suppliers
- Install, coordinate, and wire BMS / HVAC controllers and field devices including low voltage cable terminations
- Troubleshoot BAS systems including corrective actions and discuss with technical support problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment
- Collect data and performs datacenter rounds and system readings
- Develop process documentation and training materials
- Manage the installation and wiring of BAS controllers and field devices including low voltage cable terminations
- Execute troubleshooting of BAS systems including corrective actions
- Perform QA / QC of BAS and integrated systems using BAS software tools
- Manage OpEx budgets
- Maintain a constant state of readiness in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptime
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Critical Facilities / Data Centerinfrastructure operations and management software experience
- Working knowledge ofNetworking, routing and switching protocol, and networking equipment such as Cisco,Moxa, Ubiquity, etc/communication protocols such as Modbus, TCP/IP, and BACnetand the ability to resolve network and hardware problems in a timelymanner
- Ability to monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement andoptimization
- Troubleshoot to resolve or identify an equipment malfunction or failure
- Certification or relevant experience in cybersecurity principles and best-practices
- Ability to implement, document, and maintain network hardware and network security
- Experience installing and troubleshooting low-voltage control system wiring
- Hands-on experience with one or more building automation / industrial control systems ( Honeywell, Alerton, Distech Controls, TridiumNiagara N4, Allen-Bradley, StruxWare etc)
- Preferably 5+ years experience with DCIM, Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), or Building Monitor Systems (BMS)
- 3-5 + years of Data Center Leadership / Management a must
- Experience supervising a technical data center operations staff
- PLC / ALC Experience
- Experience and proficiency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Process and procedure development experience (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, etc)
- Ability to follow company and site safety requirements, comply with OSHA standards
- Analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
- A PLUS – Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans ; Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes – EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army – Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.
- Ability to successfully work independently; Self Starter and should prioritize well
- Effective Communicator- emails, phone, meetings. Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, delegator, manage conflicts; Highly organized with proved project management abilities
- Superior analytical, planning and problem resolution skills Knowledge of Company Services and operations structure and support operations
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)– ability to create complex reports, forecast modeling, etc
