Job description

We are looking for an experienced NOC Linux Specialist to support our Hunt: Showdown NetOps department.

For this role, we are seeking someone based in Poland to work remotely on a freelance contract.

You will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting Crytek’s 24×7 gaming network across multiple data centers, games, and platforms.

Please note that this role requires working in shifts (including night shifts).

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and operation of the 24×7×365 hosted data-center environment using monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, etc.
• Installation, configuration, and patching of system and game software.
• Collaborate with R&D to install, configure, and operate developed features as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for systems, game logic, and environment.
• Assist with process, policy development, and documentation.
• Operate and maintain a dynamic, highly available environment.

Requirements

• Experience as a NOC Engineer or NOC Specialist.
• Availability to work in shifts, including night shifts.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP.
• Linux administration experience.
• Experience with automation/configuration management tools (preferably Ansible) and Git.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of databases such as Postgres, MariaDB, Redis, MongoDB.
• Familiarity with protocols and services like DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN (IPSec, OpenVPN), NGINX (considered a strong advantage).
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.).

Pluses

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Networks, or Information Security (preferred).
• Specific experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux.
• Experience with monitoring systems such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana.
• Professional experience with Docker.
