Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a NOC Lead to support a federal program in Manassas, VA. The NOC Lead will oversee daily Network Operations Center activities, ensuring the availability, performance, security, and operational integrity of enterprise IT systems and services.

The role requires leading incident response, supervising NOC analysts and engineers, coordinating 24x7x365 coverage, and driving continual improvements in monitoring, automation, and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with investigation completed within the last 5 years, or active DOE Q clearance.
• 5+ years in IT operations, network operations, or systems administration.
• 2+ years leading technical teams, shifts, or operational support.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Experience with Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS, Arista EOS, Spine/Leaf architectures.
• Hands-on with Windows and Linux servers and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Splunk, Wireshark, Riverbed NetIM, PAN-OS, Ansible, Tenable, ITSM processes.
• Experience in 24x7x365 SLA-driven environments.

Responsibilities

This individual will lead incident response efforts, manage technical teams, and coordinate service restoration across network, systems, and infrastructure support teams.

Responsibilities of the NOC Lead include:

• Monitor enterprise network, infrastructure, system, and application performance to maintain operational availability


• Lead major incident response, escalation management, and service restoration activities


• Coordinate 24x7x365 operational coverage, shift readiness, and workload distribution


• Supervise and mentor NOC analysts and engineers while enforcing established SOPs


• Manage change implementations, maintenance activities, and operational risk awareness


• Develop operational reports, dashboards, knowledge articles, and process documentation

• Experience configuring and supporting Cisco IOS-XE, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, and Spine/Leaf architectures


• Hands-on experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud


• Experience with monitoring and management tools including Splunk, Wireshark, Riverbed NetIM, Syslog, Panorama/PAN-OS, Ansible, Tenable, and ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management)


• Experience supporting SLA-driven environments and managing incidents, outages, and escalations in a 24x7x365 operations center

Compensation for the NOC Lead includes:

• Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000 based on experience
