Job summary

VC3, Inc. is seeking a NOC Analyst I to join our Network Operations Center team. This entry-level role focuses on monitoring and maintaining networks and systems to ensure uptime and performance.

The position is remote in the USA, with evening to overnight hours on weekdays; opportunities for growth and training within our Infrastructure & Security department. You will work with monitoring tools and collaborate with teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with network and system monitoring tools (ConnectWise, OpenDNS, Kaseya VSA, PRTG a plus).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching.
  • Basic Windows and Linux server/OS concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network and system performance using monitoring tools.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues; escalate as needed.
  • Perform basic configurations and deployments.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations and changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Monitor alerts and respond to notifications.
  • Communicate issues to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours incidents.
  • Ensure tickets are properly created and time tracked.
  • Manage workload to meet SLAs.
  • Additional duties as required.

The Impact you will have:

We are seeking a NOC Analyst I to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our network and systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This entry-level position offers the opportunity for growth and development within our organization.

The hours/schedule for this role are weekdays, somewhere near 6pm - 3am EST.

What you will be doing:
  • Monitor network and system performance using various monitoring tools and software.
  • Identify and troubleshoot network and system issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Perform basic system and network configurations and deployments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network and system configurations and changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts and notifications generated by our network and system monitoring tools.
  • Provide timely and effective communication of network and system issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as needed.
  • Ensure Tickets are properly created and notated to account for time
  • Manage personal workload and ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Additional duties as required
The tools you bring:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with network and system monitoring tools; ConnectWise Ticketing, OpenDNS, Kaseya VSA, and PRTG a plus.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
  • Basic understanding of server and operating system concepts, including Windows and Linux.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
