Job summary

Noah’s Ark in Wisconsin Dells is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform daily inspections and hands-on upkeep of park facilities, buildings, water rides, and other attractions. You will troubleshoot, repair, and replace components to keep operations safe and reliable, while following park safety policies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, related trade certification or experience, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED; trade school or certs are a plus.
  • Background in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting or landscaping is preferred but not required.
  • 1+ year maintenance or construction experience desired.
  • Experience on roller coasters or amusement rides is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general facility maintenance across park buildings, restrooms, offices, pavilions, and pump rooms.
  • Inspect and test water rides and attractions for safety and completion.
  • Troubleshoot, service, and repair amusement rides and ride components.
  • Provide plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs as needed.
  • Operate heavy equipment and park vehicles; assist in landscaping tasks.
  • Document work with time and materials per park policies.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing hands‑on daily inspections and maintenance, as well as the repair, removal, reinstallation, or replacement of park rides, buildings, and equipment throughout the Noah’s Ark Property. The duties of this position include maintenance of general spaces within the park, such as office buildings, pavilions or restrooms. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician may also provide maintenance services to water rides, and all other attractions found within the park.

Noah’s Ark – Maintenance Technician – Full Time
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform general facility-wide maintenance and related work on roofing, exterior and interior buildings and structures, restrooms, food buildings and pump rooms
  • Assist with daily carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical projects
  • Perform daily inspection and testing of water rides, and all other attractions, signing off on its safety & completion
  • Troubleshoot, test, service, and repair amusement rides including, but not limited to, the removal, reinstallation, and replacement of amusement ride parts
  • Provide general upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and physical structures found within the park
  • Provide general maintenance, plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair broken equipment and attractions with minimal supervision
  • Develop an understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Circuits to assist with maintaining continuous ride operation
  • Perform water quality duties within Aquatics areas of the park
  • Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, scissor lift, and more
  • Operate Park motor vehicles on-and-off site
  • Perform landscaping duties including mowing, line trimming, grounds cleanup, pruning and planting, whenever assigned
  • Assist in the training of how to accurately operate the ride, possibly offering ride coverage for bathroom and meal breaks during peak season
  • Always adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Properly document work performed along with time and materials used per park policies and procedures
  • Report any maintenance, mechanical or structural issues to Maintenance and Park leadership in a timely and complete manner
  • All other duties as assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
  • Trade school training or other technical certification is a plus
  • 1+ year of previous maintenance or construction work experience desired
  • A background in a related trade such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting or landscaping is preferred but not required
  • Previous work experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides, or other attractions desired but not required
Language
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Wisconsin Child Labor Laws
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner, including landscaping equipment
  • General working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and carpentry preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity and experience with water park ride mechanics a plus
  • Familiarity with state and local codes as they relate to theme park attractions a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of time
  • Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more
  • Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
  • Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
  • Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
  • Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
Working Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, pollen and other weather conditions
  • Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases
  • Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations.
  • Subject to working at significant heights greater than 50 feet
