Job summary

Skilled Wound Care is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician in Birmingham, AL to lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities. This position offers a no-call lifestyle and flexible full-time or part-time options with a competitive salary.

You will perform surgical debridement and other bedside procedures with training, evaluate chronic wounds, manage comorbidities, and apply advanced dressings in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility).
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one.
• No prior wound care experience required; comprehensive training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical debridement and bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, complex wounds.
• Manage underlying conditions affecting wound healing.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate with care teams in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings.
