Directs and coordinates, either personally or through workers, functions involved in keeping the school building clean, orderly, and well-maintained.
Directly supervises custodial personnel in the school building. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the corporation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; record keeping; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems; and possible involvement with interviewing and hiring employees.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or six to 12 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, principal/assistant principal, and other employees of the corporation.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Successful completion of an AHERA Awareness Training Program.
Ability to operate all custodial cleaning equipment.
