Community Consolidated School District 146 is seeking a Custodian to work day or night shifts at a school site. Responsibilities include cleaning, light maintenance, setup for events, and ensuring a safe environment for students and staff.
The role requires high school graduation or equivalent and at least two years of custodian work experience. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime as needed are essential.
Reports To: Director of Building and Grounds and Site Principal
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Works the day or night shift at an assigned school site and performs custodial and light general work with minimum supervision.
Equivalent to graduation from high school and two years prior experience as custodian or worker preferred.
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak and understand English language.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lb. such as salt and bulk furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and will occasionally work outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
