Job summary

Lyntris seeks a Machine Learning Engineer / NLP Engineer to develop intelligent document understanding solutions powered by NLP and large language models. You will build and optimize pipelines converting complex technical docs into structured, actionable knowledge across engineering content.

You will work with transformer models, RAG architectures, and modern ML frameworks, ensuring production-ready NLP applications and collaborations with cross-functional teams in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years building NLP pipelines for technical/document understanding (extraction, summarization, semantic search, and question answering).
• Hands-on with large language models and transformer architectures (BERT and successors), including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and RAG.
• Experience processing complex technical documentation such as manuals, specs, tables, and figures.
• Strong Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face).
• Active U.S. national security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain NLP pipelines for technical document understanding (extraction, summarization, semantic search, QA).
• Build and optimize LLM-powered applications using transformer models, including fine-tuning and prompt engineering.
• Process and analyze engineering manuals, specifications, reports, drawings, tables, and figures.
• Convert unstructured and semi-structured documents into structured, machine-actionable knowledge.
• Implement scalable ML solutions using Python and modern ML frameworks.
• Evaluate model performance and optimize inference pipelines for production.
