Job summary

Regional Plan Association (RPA) is seeking an Associate to advance its policy and advocacy agenda in New Jersey, building relationships with elected officials, coalition partners, and other stakeholders on transportation, housing, economic development, resilience, and clean energy.

The ideal candidate will track legislative developments, engage diverse stakeholders, support coalition efforts, and represent RPA in public forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in planning, public policy, economics, political science, or related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to analyze policy and craft messaging.
• Experience building coalitions and working with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor state legislative activity; track relevant legislation and regulations and advise actions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with state legislators, staff, and local officials as applicable.
• Support media outreach, provide public testimony, and prepare presentations.
