The SDSU Research Foundation is seeking an Undergraduate Student Contractor to provide analytical and technical support in the areas of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). This role involves conducting research on autonomous vehicles and assisting Lead Systems Engineers with various projects, requiring strong analytical skills and a commitment to the job. Students with relevant coursework, particularly in STEM disciplines, are encouraged to apply.
The hourly rate for this position is $17.25 for Undergraduate II and $18.90 for Undergraduate III and is non-negotiable.

Under supervision, incumbents should have coursework in the discipline specified in the task order Statement of Work.
This Statement of Work involves providing technical and/or analytical support in the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) area, focusing on systems integration of new and existing technologies, including autonomous vehicles and other ISR equipment research and development. The tasks include laboratory-based research, development, testing, and evaluation of ISR systems and concepts at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pac). The student will also assist in engineering analyses and assessments, working with Lead Systems Engineers from various departments, primarily at NIWC Pacific in San Diego, CA.
This work supports the ISR Department Lead Systems Engineer and may involve projects requiring a security clearance. The department handles over 160 projects related to autonomous vehicles, port security, and airborne platforms, developing technologies from seabed to space. The student will support R&D and T&E efforts across active projects and participate in departmental activities to improve engineering procedures and processes, including Model Based Systems Engineering. The role involves understanding engineering improvements applicable across projects at different stages and complexities, sharing lessons learned to increase efficiency.
The tasks are primarily conducted topside and bayside, with potential work on other campuses at NIWC Pacific. The student will prepare, perform, and analyze data for R&D and T&E activities, supporting the ISR Department and Lead Systems Engineer staff.
The student contractor will provide analytical and technical support as specified in individual task orders, including:
Undergraduate Student 3: Must have coursework in the specified discipline, be at the Senior level, and be capable of completing 90% of the work independently.
