Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the NIS P&D Project Management, Associate Director is to develop and deliver the Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) Project Plan and support managing resources (External Project Expenditure (EPE)/Internal Project Expenditure (IPE)) within their designated therapy area (TA). These studies align with the integrated evidence plans across Research & Development (R&D) and marketed product portfolios. The role involves collaboration with functional teams across the NIS portfolio, including GRWE&HO, EPI, PCO, RWD&A scientists, NIS P&D Study Delivery Leads & Associates, Pipeline Project Management, Medical Project Management, Resource Management, Finance, and others to ensure disciplined NIS planning, execution, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deliver high-quality NIS Project Plans in partnership with relevant scientific and operational teams.
  2. Maintain accurate project schedules using Planisware, ensuring data quality and schedule compliance.
  3. Use project schedules to forecast costs and resources.
  4. Coordinate with functional lines to reflect work packages accurately in project plans.
  5. Engage with stakeholders to align project schedules with strategic goals and communicate changes, risks, and constraints.
  6. Support scenario planning and develop alternative plans for portfolio decision-making.
  7. Assist in analyzing project information for status reports.
  8. Identify and manage project risks, translating them into schedule adjustments.
  9. Lead or support the preparation of stakeholder communication documents and presentations.
  10. Mentor and develop NIS Planning & Delivery staff, potentially line managing Project Managers or interns.
  11. Demonstrate leadership in project management within a matrixed R&D environment.
Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, science, or finance.
  • At least 7 years of experience in NIS, clinical operations, or related pharmaceutical research, with 2+ years in project management.
  • 2+ years of industry R&D operational experience.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planisware).
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrixed project environments.
  • Proven decision-making skills that consider organizational impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD, PharmD).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with Non-Interventional Studies (NIS).
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing change.
