Job description

Overview

National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) offers a one‑year STEM learning fellowship for recent Post‑Master’s and Postdoctoral graduates. Selected fellows will work on interdisciplinary research projects in the “Science of Science” field, mentored by leading scientists at NIH.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a research project focused on capacity‑building in resource‑limited institutions, long‑term impacts of basic biomedical research, or factors influencing the biomedical research enterprise.
  • Apply data quality management, network analysis, regression analysis, and economic analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mentors and peers.
  • Present research findings to the NIH community.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field earned within the last five years (or anticipated completion by start date).
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Strong quantitative analysis, communication, initiative, collaboration, study‑design, and data‑science skills.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree earned within the last 60 months.
  • Disciplines: Chemistry and Materials Sciences, Computer, Information, and Data Sciences, Life Health and Medical Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Appointment Details
