Job summary

Rosenboom Machine & Tool in Spirit Lake, IA is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual machines, producing high-quality parts, tools, and fixtures.

You will measure to tight tolerances, read blueprints, and maintain precision craftsmanship while supporting on-the-job training and a team-focused environment that values safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Machining or tool room experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong shop math skills including fractions and tolerances.
• Familiarity with machining tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and machining equipment.
• Measure, mark, and machine metal parts to precise specs.
• Inspect finished parts and verify dimensions with measuring tools.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Tool Room Machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce high-quality parts, tools, and fixtures. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a key part in building and maintaining critical components while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and top-level craftsmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and other machining equipment
• Measure, mark, and machine metal parts to precise specifications and tolerances
• Inspect finished parts and verify dimensions using measuring tools
• Assemble, fit, and repair tools, fixtures, and mechanical components

Qualifications:

• Machining, tool room, or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong shop math skills (measurements, fractions, tolerances)
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machining tools and processes
