Job description

Structural Welders needed in Broken Arrow

Pay: $24-28/hr. Hours: 6AM-4:30PM (Will be switching to nights in the fall) and receive $3 Shift differential.

Job Type: Temp-Hire. $150 sign on bonus paid out for the first 3 weeks as a temp through Abundant Solutions. Additional $150 Referral Bonus per person referred that meets 80 hours worked.

Location: Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore sub-arc or stick welding process (must pass three or more).
  2. Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non-Destructive Exam.
  3. May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials.
  4. Quality x-ray and ultrasound test welds with minimum rework.
  5. Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches and automated equipment.
  6. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and fit up pipe, flanges, etc. with minimal supervision.
  7. Must be able to operate basic cutting equipment.
  8. Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude.
  9. Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
  10. Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
  11. Requires operation of heavy tools such as welding tools on a constant frequency and forklift on an occasional frequency.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma.
  • Welding School.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials.
  • Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or 6G test pipe.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Training & Certifications
  • Certification to weld on pipe or plate.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time.
  • Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time.
  • Requires employee to occasionally inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility.
  • Requires work in a loud environment.
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
