Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery and Postpartum in Andalusia, AL. The role involves active patient care, delivery assistance, and neonatal assessment within a team-based setting.

The position emphasizes maintaining certifications (ACLS, BLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., NRP) and ensuring adherence to clinical policies while supporting families and physicians through care transitions.

Qualifications

• Must possess ACLS, BLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., and AWHONN certifications, with proof required.
• Must hold a valid Alabama RN license or multi-state RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor & Delivery/LDRP.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Circulate during Cesarean sections and assist physicians during deliveries as needed.
• Follow policies during recovery and care of surgical patients.
• Attend the neonatal station in the C/Section suite and assess neonates post-delivery.
• Maintain certifications, including fetal monitoring and S.T.A.B.L.E. if offered, and ensure NRP certification is current.
• Identify information to be communicated to physicians and patients regarding care.
