Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA is seeking a PRN Patient Care Technician for inpatient surgical units during the night shift. Under RN supervision, you support nurses and clerical staff to ensure safe patient care and smooth unit operations.

Duties include assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, taking vital signs, phlebotomy and EKGs, and helping maintain patient comfort and safety. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; Virginia CNA preferred; RN rotation coursework

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine certifications per hospital requirements.
• Completion of 1st semester RN clinical rotations preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant in Virginia preferred.
• Previous acute care hospital work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, assists unit staff nurses and clerical specialists to ensure efficient unit operations and safe patient care.
• Includes bathing, dressing and feeding of patients, performing vital signs, phlebotomy and EKGs.
