Job summary

Batavia Nursing Care Center is a renowned skilled nursing facility delivering comprehensive respiratory care to residents. We seek a Respiratory Therapist for the night shift (7p-7a) to perform ABG analysis, heated high-flow therapy, and vent management, with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

The role requires Ohio licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of relevant experience, ideally in long-term care, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and education for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP certification preferred.
• Experience in ventilator management and weaning protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results accurately.
• Administer heated high-flow therapy and oversee tracheostomy procedures, including removal and insertion.
• Monitor and optimize settings for invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including ventilator weaning protocols.
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
• Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
