Job summary

Texas Health Allen is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Medical Surgical unit. This full-time night shift role supports patients under nurse supervision, assists with activities of daily living, and documents care per plan.

A strong focus on safety, compassion, and teamwork drives daily patient care. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and relevant training (CNA/EMT) and demonstrate good communication, organization, and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• PCT training program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT or THR approved program required.
• EMT training or certification required or Nursing student in fundamentals.
• 1 year of applicable experience acceptable in lieu of certification.
• BCLS certification required before independent patient care; CPI training annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care assistance according to plan of care.
• Collect patient data and report significant findings to nurse.
• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Support ADLs based on patient/family preferences.
• Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Document care accurately in system.
• Adapt care to patient population in collaboration with nurse.
• Respect cultural/religious needs in care delivery.
