Job summary

Salty Mike's is seeking a confident Doorman/Bouncer to be the first face guests see and help maintain a safe, fun, and welcoming nightlife environment in Charleston. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting with a commanding yet approachable presence, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, enforcing age/capacity rules, de-escalating conflicts, and coordinating with staff and management to address security concerns throughout nightly operations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, bouncing, or crowd control preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a loud, high-energy environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control entry points, checking IDs and verifying age compliance.
• Enforce venue capacity limits and ensure adherence to local regulations.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
• De-escalate conflicts and remove disruptive patrons when necessary.
• Coordinate with bar staff and management to address security concerns.
• Monitor crowd behavior on the floor and at the entrance throughout the night.
• Communicate effectively with local law enforcement when required.
