NEXSTAR Media Group, Inc. is seeking a News Producer for WOOD-TV in West Michigan. You will produce and script newscasts, plan streaming content for WOODTV+, and coordinate breaking news coverage with a calm, decisive approach.

The role requires a dynamic writer, ability to work under pressure, and availability for overnights and weekends. Experience with newsroom software and a strong editorial sense are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication.
• Prefer one year of experience in news operations.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks.
• Experience with ENPS, BitCentral, Premiere and OBS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and writes the on-air newscast, deciding the order of stories and how each will be presented under deadlines.
• Writes and orders news stories; approves scripts and contributes to editorial decisions during breaking news.
• Builds rundowns for WOODTV+ and coordinates streaming content.
• Produces newscasts for broadcast across platforms and schedules broadcasts for evenings and weekends.
• Operates the OBS equipment in the WOODTV+ studio and performs other duties as assigned.
