Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a wastewater technician to perform daily sampling, data recording, and routine maintenance. You will prepare samples for labs and monitor water quality, adjusting chemicals as needed in an industrial plant environment.

The role requires self-motivation, good math and communication skills, and the ability to work across shifts, including overtime and weekends. Travel is unlikely.

Qualifications

• Must be a self-starter and stay busy with constructive work with little supervision.
• Good with math.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Good penmanship.

Responsibilities

• Sample wastewater daily and record data.
• Perform daily maintenance of wastewater system.
• Prepare wastewater and finished product samples for lab.
• Monitor plant water to assure quality and proper chemical balance.
• Adjust chemicals and equipment as needed to maintain proper balance of water quality.
• Perform minor and routine maintenance on wastewater control and treatment equipment.
• Ensure sprayers are used correctly and in compliance with guidelines.
• Assist in sludge disposal.
• Pumps sludge, drains tanks, cleans DAF and water clarification unit.
• Monitors, maintains, and cleans equipment for Odor Control System.
• Performs related tasks to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
