Job summary

US Foods in Norwich, CT is hiring a Warehouse Loader to prepare outbound orders for daily deliveries. You will load trailers, verify pallets, and ensure proper labeling and safety practices in a multi-temperature environment. This full-time shift runs Sunday through Thursday, starting at 6:30 PM, with weekly pay.

Benefits begin day one and include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and ESPP. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED and at least one year of warehouse experience, with pallet jack

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Must be pallet jack certified; good attention to detail; ability to read load diagrams; basic mathematical skills; must be team oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct trailer inspection before loading to insure trailer is clean, has the proper temperature and is ready for loading.
  • Ensure all pallets are built according to stops and are securely wrapped to avoid damage during transport.
  • Verify header labels on all pallets and check for damaged or outdated product before loading.
  • Load trailer, ensuring bulkheads are placed correctly and are secured.
  • Also, confirm load diagram is completed and submitted.
  • Follow all safety work practices and maintain clean and orderly dock area.

BASIC PURPOSE

To load all the outbound orders into the designated tractor trailers in compliance with company procedures and standards. This makes sure the drivers have the product safely stowed and organized for maximum efficiency for the day’s deliveries.

SCHEDULE

Sunday- Thursday. 6:30 PM Start Time - until work finished. $23.69 hr. Weekly Pay!

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Related Experience: A minimum of one year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be pallet jack certified; Good attention to detail; Ability to read load diagrams; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Must be team oriented and able to get along with others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Comfortable working in a multi-temperature indoor/outdoor environment ranging from -5 degrees to over 100 degrees required.

COMPENSATION

Depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is at $23.69/hour. As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation.
