Job summary

Nemours Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) operates around the clock to stabilize and transport critically ill or injured pediatric patients between facilities. The Transport Registered Nurse performs advanced care during inter-facility transports, collaborating with intensivists and a multi-disciplinary team.

Shift is nights, typically three 12-hour shifts weekly, with weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN must be obtained within 3 years.
• 2-3 years ICU experience required; NICU preferred.
• At least two years of recent critical care nursing experience; pediatric experience preferred.
• Nursing Licenses: DE required to start; MD/PA/NJ to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• AHA BLS required; must have PALS, ACLS or obtain within 90 days.
• Must obtain ENPC, TNCC, Stable and NRP within 1 year of hire.
• Must obtain PHRN and DE EMT within two years of hire.
• National accredited nursing certification preferred; prior transport experience preferred.
• PA background check required.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage expert, specialty care during inter-facility pediatric transports.
• Stabilize and transport neonate, infant, child or adolescent patients.
• Operate transport equipment and monitors used in critical care transports.
• Perform procedures such as vascular access and airway management as applicable.
• Work under direct medical command from pediatric intensivists.
• Support patient care in PICU, NICU, ED and other nursing units as needed.
• Help the transport team deliver high-quality care across facilities.
