Job summary

Energy Transfer in Philadelphia is seeking a Terminal Operator to oversee loading, receiving, storing and transferring petroleum products at our Philadelphia terminal, under supervision of the Terminal Supervisor.

The role requires attention to safety, accurate meter readings, inventory input, and ability to travel to other facilities as needed.

Shift is a 12-hour night schedule, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Effective communication with peers and management at various levels.
• Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
• Able to carry a pager or cell phone for shift holdover or reassignment, including late hours.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and operate basic product testing equipment.
• Proficient in mathematics and able to perform calculations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
• Clear and effective written and oral communication.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a TWIC.
• Team player capable of following directions and prioritizing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Gauge storage tanks and take meter readings daily.
• Provide top-tier customer service to commercial and operations representatives.
• Calculate and input inventories and meter readings into systems.
• Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of inventories and thru-puts.
• Perform facility maintenance and ensure safety and housekeeping.
• Load petroleum products onto trucks safely and receive from pipelines.
• Travel to other facilities with short notice to support terminals.
• Take product samples and perform required quality control tests.
• Log scheduled maintenance and compliance inspections.
• Ensure terminal equipment functions properly and report failures.
• Conduct daily walk-around inspections for risk and safety.
• Issue work permits and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Correct unsafe acts and coordinate emergency response as needed.
• Communicate outages and downtime to supervisors and customers.
