Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for Med-Surg/Telemetry on the night shift in Missouri. A MO or compact RN license and telemetry experience are required to qualify for consideration.

The role involves a 36-bed unit, patient ratios of 1:6, and care on a fast-paced telemetry floor. Travelers must reside more than 50 miles away, and two professional references are required for Missouri assignments.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, Basic Dysrhythmia, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry experience required
• Strong time management, IV start, and patient experience skills required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments

Responsibilities

• Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with 36 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
• Unit staffed with a technician for every 10-12 patients
• Uses Dynamap (Welch Allyn) monitors, telemetry with central screen at the nurses station, and Alaris IV pumps
• Documentation via Meditech
• 7P-7A night shift schedule
• Every other weekend required
• First to float, prioritized to ortho or telemetry units depending on competencies
• Bedside shift report, hourly safety rounds, and AIDET patient experience practices expected
• Provide direct patient care on a busy telemetry unit with no conscious sedation procedures performed
• Charcoal gray scrub top and bottom required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
